Plotka na temat tytułu tej piosenki krążyła od lutego 2009 roku. 31 marca w Internecie pojawił się wyciek utworu potwierdzający w tagach zgodność tytułu. Dopisany do niego numer 14 zasugerował, że jest to piosenka, o której Manson zdążył już wspomnieć w marcowej publikacji magazynu Kerrang! Utwór początkowo miał być zakończeniem płyty, lecz, jak to określił Manson,  “pewne rzeczy w moim życiu nie były jeszcze rozwiązane” (płytę zakończył ostatecznie utwór 15). W tym samym wywiadzie utwór Into the Fire został przez Mansona nazwany “wspaniałym epickim utworem”, który “na zawsze uczyni Twiggy’ego wirtuozem gitary”.

Na promówce albumu, której zdjęcie pojawiło się w Internecie 18 kwietnia, znalazła się ścieżka z akustyczną wersją utworu.
